My partner hasn't had any testing done.
As I have received hsv1 only do I assume he does not have hsv2?
My partner had a very small blister on his genitals so I assumed that was how I received it as he has not gotten oral sores in the past.
He is not taking any of this seriously as his outbreak was no where near as bad as mine and I am struggling to explain it to him.
what testing did your partner have done?
can you transmit hsv1 from genitals to genitals? Yes you can though the odds of such are rather low. Did you happen to have sex when your partner had active genital symptoms?

Yes the doctor took a swap and I received the results last night to those tests.
A visual inspection is not a diagnosis of herpes or type. Did the doctor take a swab and blood test?
Yes I went to the doctors last night and it was confirmed. I am only 18 years old and feel as though I have just received a stigma for the rest of my life. Hopefully throughout the years some sort of medication is developed to reverse this. Do males and females react differently? My partners outbreak was no where near as bad as what mine is
If you both are having initial outbreaks of genital HSV1 then yes one of you must have been recently infected to infect the other.
How have the infections been confirmed?
