Two negative Cultures

Two negative Cultures

One from a penis lesion, one from a lesion on my butt cheek.  Both done within 48 hours of appearance, both negative (presuming the buttock one is because it's been 2 weeks since it's been done and no call back).  I'm in Canada and don't want to order the Blood test for privacy.

What should these 2 negative cultures lead me to believe? Is there something else at play here?

Keep in mind that the virus is very, very fragile and can't survive an open area environment from more than a few seconds. This may very well explain the false negatives.  Also, the blood test that i was given wouldn't show signs of herpes unless it had been in my body for more than 60 days. There are several different types of tests, but this one tested the antibodies which my body hadn't built up yet. I was tested 8 days after being infected and after lesions appeared.  The culture came back positive, and the blood test came back negative. You should call your doctor back. And if you still have lesions, go get cultured again. If you do order a blood test, make sure you find out how long the virus has to be in your body to show the results.

You got your lesion tested 8 days after it appeared and it was still positive?  I've heard it can only be 2 days after it appears.
