Type 1 herpes

Ok, I have HSV-1, just like many other people I about 2-3 cold sores on my lips a year. My question is- If i have no signs of a cold sore coming, can I have oral sex with a woman without worrying about transmitting the virus to her? or should i not do this at all?

You need to talk to your partner about this. Find out if she's ever been tested to know her own status.  Ask her how she feels about it all too. If she wants, you can utilize barrier protection when you perform oral sex too.

Just avoiding kissing and performing oral sex when you have obvious cold sores does go a long way but you can still potentially transmit the virus even when no obvious cold sores are present which is why making the decision together is best.
