UPDATE FROM "New Relationship Help" by NeverScared, Jul 05, 2009 10:13AM

For those of you that read my original post, "
New Relationship Help
by NeverScared, Jul 05, 2009 10:13AM",

I just want to update you on whats going on. It has been a month since we have been dating and there has been some progress. She has been satisfying me with manual stimulation, (which is a big leap) and our overall relationship has blossomed. Sex is still the holy grail, just outside of reach. But she has been asking about it more and more - she has also been weighing her risks. She knows by now, that I cannot ever give her a 100% guarantee that she won't ever get it, but I can greatly lessen her chances. Last night in particular, we were going at it, and she dropped every hint that she was basically ready without saying it. But she asked me a question that stumped me:

If my thighs and privates touch your thighs, hips, and testicles, will I get it?  My initial answer was going to be generally no, because of what I have read on here. Basically I have never had an outbreak anywhere else but near the top of my manhood, to which the condom would cover anyway. Nowhere else, definitely not on my thighs and for all I have ever seen, never on my sac. So am I safe to say that she is generally safe with condoms and my Valtrex? I know the answer is pretty safe, but I want to make sure that I am not lying to her.

Thanks!

You shed from the anogenital area both with obvious lesions and periodically in between. think the softer, tender pink skin in your genital and anal area.  The skin on the thighs and buttocks is too thick for the virus to penetrate to the surface of the skin without an obvious lesion present.    Doesn't matter where your ob's are located - that's where shedding occurs.

Avoiding sex whenever you have obvious symptoms, daily suppressive therapy with valtrex and condoms on average gets her risk down to 2-3%/year of acquiring hsv2 from you.

Glad she's coming around and she's proving me wrong for the most part :)

Just one question and sorry for sounding dumb but, does the anogenital include my ball sac too cause on a normal day, the skin seems pretty thick. I know that with a 2-3% chance per year, that her and I don't have that much to worry about however, I just want to know the answers so i can give them on call and be confident in what I am doing.

Thanks in advance,

Also you know what bothers me?? I have been threw this sex thing before and I never thought about it so heavily as I have here. I have no idea why.
