**URGENT**

ok so this question really isnt life threatening but i need to know if you can spread herpes through a hot tub? my mother and i went on a vacation this week and this place has a hot tub and hot springs and i REALLY want to get in them but the last thing i want to do is cause a mass herpes outbreak here! can someone please help me and tell me i can have fun and soak in the relaxing hot springs! thank you!!

Soak away! You have to have skin to skin contact with a person to get or transmit genital herpes. A hot tub, pool, bath is not a risk...

yes! thank you thank you THANK YOU! im so excited! one more question though, ive been reading on websites that the chlorine almost immediatley kills the virus but hot springs are just natural water thats ok right? i know you just said it was fine but i just want to make doubble sure because i still have open sores right now and my mother will be in there with me and i would be sad forever if i gave that to my mommy or anyone else for that matter

the virus doesn't float thru water to infect someone. you also will have a bathing suit on so there won't even be any contact between your genital area and anything.

It's called a sexually transmitted disease for good reason - you need to be having sex to transmit it.
