Unprotected sex with stranger- chances of herpes?

I had unprotected sex with a stranger three days ago (which I have never done before) when I was virtually blackout drunk. I do not know her name so have no clue of her sexual history. She lived in a decent area so i assume she wasn't shooting herion or anything. I asked her "are we ok without a condom" because i did not have one and she replied "yea i have an IED" so i assume std's were not on her mind. I am college age white male who is circumcised, she is white around my age as well. Our intercourse lasted about a minute.

my main concern is Herpes because its most common and others like chlamydia can be cured.

What are the chances I could have contracted herpes-not knowing if she even has it or if she was breaking out?

Its been 3 days and i don't have any symptoms but i am freaking out because of this whole scenario. If I am symptom free, how long should i wait to assume I am clean? I plan to do an STD test for chlamydia and gonnherea soon, and thinking about doing a Herpes blood test in 6 weeks.

Please help or try to put my mind at ease, its effecting my sleeping/work and life in general.

Just use protection for awhile. Which is always a good idea. I would test for bacterial std's though.

Even if she had it and was Shedding at the time. Most exposures will not lead to transmission. Those stats are from experts like hook and handsfield. Those most at risk are in a relationship where one person has it and the other does not. There was a study done on 20 couples where one had hsv2 the other did not. They averaged sex at least three times a week for an entire year. No condoms and no antiviral medication. The only protection was not having sex while having an outbreak. After an entire year only one couple passed the virus to the other partner. Hsv is not a super contagious infection. So 1 in a 1000 for a single exposure is about right. Like I said your chances are extremely low.
Keep in mind the girl you were with probably does not have it.

ok that is a relief. Do you think Its proper to hold off having sex for a few months till I can get tested for everything? or is that a little paranoid? I have a girlfriend and if I hold off having sex for that long it would be really suspicious though. . This is my first time ever cheating on her so maybe my concern for STDs is overblown, but I could not imagine losing her over a stupid drunken encounter like this.

Your chances of contracting hsv from this one exposure is very low. 1 in a 1000 if she had hsv. If she had open lesions (which I doubt) the risk would be much greater. Since you do not know her status I would test at twelve weeks. You can test at 8 weeks as that would be a very good indicator but not conclusive.
Primary outbreak symptoms usually occur 3-10 days after exposure. If nothing show up by 10 days you can be pretty confident you are OK.
Again the odds are in your favor. You can test for bacterial std's at any time now.

do you really think it is that low? i read 1/6 of adults have it, and maybe there is a 30 percent chance she was contagious at the moment? I'm not sure, with these things things the possibilities are always low but it is the fact their is still a chance that scares the hell out of me
