Urethral HSV1

Hello all..i think i have recently aquired urethral GHSV1. My symptoms were intermittent urethral discomfort/burning (mild to moderate), hematuria, No urinary frequency, no dysuria, no external lesions. Just an inflammed meatus from time to time (red to dark red) These symptoms came less than an hour after receieving protected oral and vaginal with an escort. (Lower shaft and scrotum with mouth unprotected)

Medications perscribed:
Doxy, rochephine, cipro, abd just recently Valtrex.

The symptoms have seemed to have gotten better with valtrex which by process of elimination it MUST be HSV. I guess my questions are as follows:

- Is a 7week IGG hsv 2 test conclusive? I know im hsv1 positive (cold sores etc.)

Im planning on going and getting another one done just to make sure its not hsv2. I also read on here that ghsv is pretty uncommon in the urethra alone. I figure if it was hsv it wouldve cleared up on its own in the 4 months i was having symptoms. But it didnt do so until i started valtrex. I plan on maybe stopping valtrex after this course and see if the symptoms come back to get more accurate testing. But however im pretty sure its hsv.

Any info or insight is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

**Update**
I have been on the Valtrex for about a week now and for the most part everything has subsided which has made me pretty nervous.  I have a strong feeling this is a very rare/atypical case of HSV2. A conclusive IGG blood test should be in in about a day or 2. Even the clinician at this last blood draw didnt seem to think it has hsv. I just think my symptoms are so mild and atypical that they have been misdiagnosed. Testing will know for sure in the next day or so...

Thank you very much for your input. I have been to 4 doctors and 1 urologist about this and none of them said its an std despite me telling them the description of the scenario. The last doctor said it may be urethritis from hsv1 so thats why he gave me the valtrex. He basically said "lets give it a shot". In less than 12 hours symptoms improved. Its the first medication that has actually "done something." I dont know how else to explain it. I will get another hsv herpeselect done for hsv2 and continue to follow up with. Urologist for a swab. It would be great to get a concrete diagnosis. Ill try and post any updates. Again thank you for your input.

You're welcome. Just an FYI. I have had so many men with the same symptoms you describe. The one thing they all have in common is, never testing positive for hsv. Or any std for that matter
Yea i dont know. I showed my hsv results to this doctor that perscribed me the valtrex. He stated since the antibiotics werent working it was perhaps viral. He said viral urethritis commonly is caused by hsv1 (oral to genital) But he never stated how common or rare it is to not have external lesions accompany. I can only guess if hematuria was present it might make sense. But i have tried to find a case of urethral herpes alone and it seems like it is pretty uncommon, especially with no dysuria. But..thats just my guess according to my experience with this issue. The only way to know is get off of these meds and see if the symptoms return so i can go get swabbed for concrete proof.

If you have oral hsv1 then the odds of you having a newly acquired hsv1 genital infection is almost zero. Nothing you describe sounds like urethral herpes. First, the pain would be intense and having lesions inside your urethra and none outside would be rare. Your test at 7 weeks is a good indicator but not conclusive.
