Vaginal/ butt cheek/ thighs burning. No sores or discharge.

Hey guys
So there's no point of me making a super long post again but to get the full story please read the posting I made yesterday in regards to the discomfort I've been feeling via the STD forum.

For 8 days I have experienced;
1. vaginal burning severity ranges but has decreased drastically since day 1
2. burning butt cheeks, mainly at the fold area and outer sides for 3 days
3. recently for about 2 or so days the back of my thighs have a raw sensation that travels around

- I have has no sores and lesions but have heard you can contract herpes and experience the mildest symptoms
- Right now I'm on my period and I always get headaches/lower back cramps in this window so those symptoms don't help at all
- Currently no flue like symptoms within the past 8 days

I just have a few questions in regards to herpes,
1. Could someone experience prodome symptoms for as long as I have now (8 days) and still have no lesions to show ?

2. How long would I have to wait for HSV testing for a proper amount of antibodies to show in my blood work?
- I hear that early blood work for herpes is usually unreliable and that doctors tend to rely on testing swabs from open blisters for accuracy which I don't have (let's pray it stays that way)

3. Do these symptoms sound like HSV1G to anyone?
- I've never had vaginal or anal sex but oral sex was performed on me for the first time ever, 2 days before these symptoms began to show. The thigh and buttock burning is more recent which leads me to worry about HSV.

I will get to a public health clinic for a full STD screening tomorrow and have a physical with my GP tuesday and hopefully she may help.
Any words of advice I'd really appreciate! thanks.

Swabs are only good if taken within 48 hours after appearing.

I see.
Do you think that once my menses ceases this weekend I'd be able to go and get a swab done at my GP's office and result in a positive/negative by the 3rd week?

On average sores develop between 3 and 13 days or so.

Hi Life360!
Update!
So I went into my PH clinic today and had a urine sample taken for chlaym/gonno but they really don’t think that is what I have considering the burning sensation of the buttock and thigh region (thigh has diminished today) and I barely feel a burning in the vaginal area. I asked my doctor and she said that there were no lesions in the buttock or vulva/vaginal area and that since it has been 10 days post exposure/9 Days since I began to experience “symptoms” the tingling or burning sensation if it was from HSV1 OR 2 I would have noticed ulcers/lesions by now.
I feel like I should trust her expert advice but how is it possible that I have all of the HSV symptoms (minus lesions/ flu like symptoms besides a sore throat which has faded here and there) ?? Is there a possibility for lesions or sores to show up soon (I pray not). This is eating me alive that I can’t even blood test for this stupid disease and that I’m experiencing so much discomfort/ burning sensations in my buttock region.

Please offer any advice that you can.

herpes sores in the urethra are not common at all and for first time outbreaks would be in the vaginal area not the urethra and if you had a herpes sore in your urethra it would be very painful esp when toxic urine comes into contact with the sore ouch!
Do let us know the results.

Yes. Or is burning when you urinate (in accordance to herpes) more common when penetration has actually occurred?
Will be sure to address that concern tomorrow at the clinic and report back. Really hoping you're right :) !

are you asking if you have herpes in your urethra? Really appears more of a fungal infection that your describing.

My period only started yesterday (I related my lower back pain and headaches to it since I always get them during my time of the month). The vaginal burning began last week Wednesday morning 2 days after receiving oral sex from the guy on Monday night. The burning has gotten better/  but it comes and goes.
At first I thought it was a yeast infection & when I tried to use a yeast infection cream it made it burn worse almost, but there was no discharge or swelling with the burning at all.
It doesn't burn when I pee, only really after as if the skin has been irritated and continues throughout the day depending.
I'm not too sure what to make of that.
Do you know if herpes usually creates a burning sensation during or post urination?

Vaginal burning would more be associated with a fungal infection and since your on your period i would think its that rather than herpes. What your describing just does not match herpes symptoms. Just to have burning that has gotton better over the last few days is not how herpes outbreaks happen.

Well then, that just sucks to hear guess I should prepare myself for the outbreak then...
Thanks for all of the help and prompt responses.

1. yes, 8 days is about the max before a sore develops.
2. no only testing confirms.
3. yes they would be unrelated with a first time infection as are at point of contact.

1. So are you saying that I could be experiencing symptoms of an initial outbreak still which has potential to develop over the next few weeks?

2. Is there no way of knowing if I have herpes now without testing a) visible sores b) the male who gave me oral sex?

3. Does this mean my butt and thigh pain are unrelated to my herpes concern?

Thanks for the response Life360!

Hi
1. yes but remember prodrome is most often for those who already have had outbreaks so if your concerned its a recent infection prodrome would not really be considered.
2. 3 months post exposure but 2 months would be a good indicator.
3. first time outbreaks would be at point of contact which would be the genital area so the butt and thigh issues would not be the areas for a new infection.
