Vaginal Discharge and HSV 1 Genitally

I was reading online, on multiple sites that a sign of HSV breakout on the genitals can have vaginal discharge...
Does that just mean any type of Vaginal discharge? Or does it have to look abnormal?
or is it just discharge in general?

I don't know I'm afraid I have never had a Genital Outbreak but I believe there may be a very slight clear discharge during Outbreaks, An abnormal discharge would be yellow in color and fairly thick with an offensive odour,in fact anything that is not normal to yourself needs investigated by your Doctor as Bacterial Infections can cause discharges that don't always smell but are still indicative of an infection of some sort.
