Vaginal itch

Hi,

I´ve been having a couple of symptoms, that could possibly be atypical herpes symptoms.  This includes two pimple-like things on my neck which a dr. told me was molluscum, which have been around for over 2 weeks, and internal vaginal itching, with slight external vaginal itching (which I have this in the past and attributed it to a yeast infection) and 2 or 3 tiny little pink dots on my outer labia that went away in 3 days. The gyn saw them and said they were nothing.

I am still worried that I might have herpes, and will be getting a blood test.

For those of you who have had outbreaks, how long does the itchiness last?  And is the itchiness internal?

Can you have internal itchiness if you were possibly infected through protected sex?  and there was no internal contact with the virus?

Thanks, any insight would be helpful.

i am not sure what the gyn did a test for, i just know that they did a pap, and would tell me what the discharge was...

i have a regular partner, and we haven´t had sex since i started experiencing the vaginal itch and started making connections between all of the symptoms.

timeline:   2 or 3 zit like things on neck; 1 week after neck zits, 2 tiny tiny little bumps about an inch apart on outer labia (went away in 3-5 days); 1.5 weeks after those tiny little bumps appeared i started to have internal vaginal itching (this has lasted 1.5 weeks); the sores on my neck have now been around for 3 weeks now.

the derm gave me some kind of cortizone cream to put on the sores.

is it typical for popped molluscum sores to ooze?

should i go back to the gyno and get other std tests done?

thanks!

are you putting bacitracin or another topical antibiotic over your neck where the lesions were removed?

When was the last time you had sex prior to all these symptoms starting? Do you have a regular partner? Are they getting tested for herpes?

Did the gyn you saw do any testing on your discharge to see if it's yeast, bacteria or another std going on? A pap doesn't test for any of that!!!

grace,

thanks so much for your input, i really appreciate it. i´ve been driving myself crazy with worry.  i went to a different gyn today and he said there was discharge and did a pap that was sent to the lab.

the dermo tried to remove the molluscum, but it just looks like a big cold sore now that has a little pus coming out of it (yuck).  she told me to come back on friday.

i get my blood test results next week, so i´ve got my fingers crossed for a negative.

thanks again for your feedback.

at this point getting back to the gyn for a full gyn work up is the best course of action.  They could've done this while you have your period even and I"m not sure why they didn't.  Getting tested for yeast and bacterial infections genitally is the best next step.

Did the dermatologist recommend removing the molloscum? Did they prescribe aldara?

It would be incredibly unusual to have herpes on your neck and your genital area.  Molluscum doesn't look anything like herpes so I"m fairly confident the dermatologist didn't misdiagnose the neck issues as something non-herpes if it was herpes.

Thanks, Grace.  No, the gyn didn´t do a full gyn exam because  I had my period, and the derm wouldn´t do an actual swab test for molluscum or herpes even though I asked...  I am going to a different gyn today.  I have another question:

If I have contracted HSV - 2 could it be possible that I contracted facial and genital at the same time, and then would the outbreak happen in both areas at the same time? Or vice versa, that I contracted HSV -1 and am having a facial and genital outbreak at the same time?

Thanks so much!  I know nothing can be known  until I get my lab results, but I still have 10 more days of waiting, and the unknown is killing me.

have you had any other testing done genitally? were you examined there for molluscum?  Did you get tested for yeast and bacterial vaginal infections?
