Oh, and, never on both sides. Always ONLY on the left side.
They are in the genital region, on the outside of the upper area of left lip and yes, the exact same spot every time. Every time I have an ob it's only one sore and it does clear up quick. I had a swab test done in August 2013 and these sores look exactly like the one she tested and are in the same location as well.
Where are you having the outbreaks and they most often occur in the same spot but not on both sides. How do you know these are herpes outbreaks?
I don't know which hsv I have, she never told me, but I will be asking when I go back. For a while, even on the Valtrex, I was having obs every 2 to 3 weeks. They would clear up quick and, they were rarely painful, but extremely annoying. I have been thinking about triggers. I do suffer from extreme, almost debilitating, anxiety and my life is very stressful. I have panic/anxiety attacks frequently so maybe that's what's causing my obs.
Its just data. Different people have ob for different reasons so you might try to figure out what is triggering them. How often are you having them and do you have hsv2 or 1?
My doctor had suggested trying 2gm/day, after my next round of blood work to check for other immune issues, since the 1gm/day doesn't seem to be very effective but she was concerned with the effect it would have on my liver. When I have an outbreak, I do take 2gm/day for 3 days, then I go back to 1gm/day. I'm just so confused as to why the 1gm/day suppression therapy wouldn't be effective if all the data says it should be.
Hi for suppression and valtrex per terri warren it would be 1000mg once a day for those who have 10 or more ob per year and 500 mg for those of 9 or fewer. So since 1000 = 1 gram that would be correct.
You could also talk to your doctor about recurrent ob doses which is 2 grams twice in one day, 12 hours apart. Its not necessary to take it more than one day for the greatest benifit.
