Very strange

I am a bit confused.

I was trimming my hair and I accidently pricked myself with the scissors. A few days later, a kind of pimple formed and I am pretty sure it was in that very same area but I cannot be 100% certain. So i popped it. But then the next day, it was hardened kind of like a nodule, but after a while it sort of drained and pus came out. Mind you, the spot is pretty small.  there was no crusting and no ulceration and it only hurt when it was hard. Now it seems to be going away as the skin feels normal its just still somewhat red. I asked my doctor about this and he said that it just sounded like a normal infection and nothing to be alarmed about.

But, from what i can remember, like 2 months before that , I got a pimple on the pubic area, which of course I didn't think anything of it because I thought it was just a simple pimple. And now I got another pimple in that area and again i popped that and pus came out. These aren't on the penis at all like the other one but is there some correspondence. Again it is very small and there is no cluster. But the pimple isn't exactly on the hair its right next to a hair, so could it just be perhaps a sweat gland?

I really don't have any reason to be too concerned as I've only been with a very limited number of people all of whom seemed to be very safe/clean.

But, I am still getting freaked out because herpes they say how it can look like anything but maybe I just never paid so much attention to my genital region. Why would an infection come about like that ( as in I popped the one on my penis and it hardened and then drained) and then I get these pimple like things on the pubic region every now and then.

You don't have to sleep around to get herpes. If you are worried about possibly having genital herpes - then get a type specific herpes igg blood test to see what your status is.  This could be regular ole pimples/folliculitis/ingrown hairs or it could be something more.  I think the peace of mind from testing is worth it.
