Was my gyn wrong?

31 days ago I had protected and unprotected sex with a new partner who assured me he was clean. For the first half a condom was in place but later it came off (I know, I know...). 3 days post encounter I felt tired and feverish and slept most of my off day. Then began sneezing like crazy with runny nose and sore throat which turned into a sinus infection that eventually went away. I passed this off as nothing. Then last week I decided to shave my genital area. I do not use a straight razor, I trim with beard trimmers with no guard. I showered first and dried off then trimmed my pubic area. After trimming, I used a razor with shaving cream to shave my thighs. I know shaving cream was all over my vagina, because i just lathered and trimmed the areas I needed. Then I rinsed well with warm water and dried off. Maybe 5 minutes later I noted painless, non-itchy reddened areas, slightly raised bumps on my labia majora (ONLY IN THE HAIR AREA) where I'd just trimmed with the trimmers, nothing on the mucous membranes anywhere. I freaked out and took 1.2grams of acyclovir immediately (prescribed for oral hsv 1). I went to my GYN the following afternoon, reddened areas still there, and he inspected and said I was fine. He even did a pelvic exam and saw nothing inside, just the spots on the hairy area. I even tried squeezing and popping one of them and nothing happened. Just red. The next day the areas were gone. A few days after that, maybe 3, I started getting lower abdominal pains and lower back pains and pretty tough flank pains. I passed it off as a UTI. Started bactrim and got a shot of rocephin, but nothing has happened. The spots are still gone, but my lower abdomen and lower back still ache really bad. It seems that when I urinate, the abdominal and back pain ease up. Also, for the past 3 weeks Ive been having right side sciatic feelings in my leg, but I've felt that before now, so again, I passed that off as well, until the red spots showed up. Here are my concerns:

1. I am hsv1 positive, have been since I was young. Could this be hsv2 with mild symptoms?

2. Is it possible to have herpes and only experience lower abdominal pain/ pressure with no sores anywhere?(which is happening now)

3. How likely is a one time half way protected encounter? I know "halfway" isn't half the risk, but We did use a condom for 70% of it.

4. Would acyclovir work in 36 hours and make the red spots totally disappear? Does it work that fast with new or first time hsv2 outbreaks? It never does with my cold sores.

FYI- GC and HIV negative (i demanded swabs that day but he wouldn't Sean for herpes bc he said it wasn't anything to swab I guess due to lack of actual blistering or fluid filled lesions) and I've been negative for hsv2 igg previously, only positive for hsv1 with a high positive score.

Thanks!

Your cold or sinus infection has nothing to do with hsv. What you describe is not hsv related. Antivirals won't wipe out the outbreak that quickly.
It's also highly unlikely to experience other issues in the absence of actual herpes lesions

I appreciate your quick reply! I guess I'm mostly concerned about the pelvic pain and low back pain... Fearing there are lesions inside that I'm not seeing? If that were the case, wouldn't there be something, anything, on the outside that id notice? Other than what I believe was irritation from trimming, anyway?
Lesions in the urethra are rare without lesions outside as well. Plus the pain is terrible. I've had more than one person say it's the worst pain they have ever experienced.
Thanks for the knowledge. I did not know that. The pain I'm feeling is not in anyway the worst pain I've ever felt. It doesn't burn when I urinate. Just a lot of pressure in my lower back and lower abdomen. A dull, constant ache. What about cervical lesions? Are they rare without lesions on the outside as well? If this would be an OB, it would be my first, as I've tested negative in the past. Positive for hsv1 orally, but never hsv2.
In the absence of lesions I wouldn't suspect hsv. Yes you could have body aches, fever and swollenlymph nodes but also will have lesions at the same time
Thanks again for your quick reply. I'm going with your knowledge and hoping for the best. I hope my post helps others in the future. Happy holidays to all!

Also, it does not burn at all when I urinate. Hasn't at all. It actually makes it feel better. The abdominal pressure/pain and back pain seem relieved for a bit until I have to urinate again. There was some vaginal opening discomfort and itching, after all the antibiotics, but within 24 hours of takin a diflucan, it was totally gone. Should I worry with testing in 8 weeks or am I letting anxiety borrow trouble? You guys are the experts here, certainly not me. Any advice is welcomed!.
