What are chances of contracting HSV-2 from protected sex?

I had my first time sex about three months ago. It was protected sex (used condom twice) and no oral or anal. The thing is I know little about my ex-partner, although we had it only on time. After 6 weeks I got tested for HIV, Chlamydia, Syphilis and gonorrhea: everything negative. Now reading more deeply about STDS, I came across HSVs and now I'm worried.

I suffered from yeast infections while before having sex so after sex I had itching period again, my OB told me that sex activity reactivated it so after taking a pomade for 5 days I had no more itching.
I hadn't have any blisters or sores and been twice with my OB after sex happened (first time 3 days later and second time 6 weeks later, he said everything looked fine).

What are the chances of contracting HSV-2 with protected sex? Should I get tested even though I have no symptoms? Does it mean I have to test every time I have sex?

Hsv primary outbreaks very significantly. Some are so severe they end up in the E.R. others it's so mild they don't recognize it or pass it off as something else. There are truely asymotomatic cases as well.

Flu like symptoms are fever, body aches, swollen groin lymph nodes. This would be accompanied by blisters.

So tonsilitis is not flu-like symptom even though I had fever? Ok thanks.

I have another question: is it true that 80% of people never have outbreak? Or what they mean is that they don't know it right away? But eventually it shows up. If so, usually when it starts showing once you stop being asymptomatic?

Hi, using a condom really lowers and chances to close to zero risk and with out any symptoms like blisters followed by flu like symptoms testing would not be recommended unless you have a long term partner. Itching like you mention is not an herpes symptom.

Hello! Thank you for the answer. I forgot to mention that 5 days I had wisdom teeth infection (I've had wisdom teeth pain before but it was bearable as they were growing but this time they were fully impacted) that led to having tonsilitis. I did have fever because of that and I had to remove my wisdom teeth. Is that considered flu-like symptom?
no
Ok thank you so much.

Also why is not recommendable to test for HSV unless you have long-term partner?
