What are the chances I have HSV-1? Please help!

I took one sip out of two people's drinks (using their straws) and unkowing to me, I learned later they have HSV-1 Herpes. Neither of them were breaking out at the time. What is the chance I have contracted HSV-1? It has been two days since the incident. If I do have it, when might it show up?

Most adults have hsv1 orally - in fact in the US it's 1 out of every 2-3 adults you've ever been around has it. Even if you don't recall ever having obvious cold sores yourself you even could be hsv1+ and not know it.

As adults, oral herpes is almost always transmitted thru romantic type kisses. It's very, very unlikely you contracted hsv1 from sharing straws/drinks.
