I do have HSV-1 but no HSV-2.

Would a herpes outbreak happen overnight without any warning. I had sex using a condom, the next day I had about 5 or 6 smal red bumps on one side of penis head. The area was sensitive as I could feel it as my penis rubbed against boxers while walking.

Would this be an outbreak or irritation from condom the night before. I cannot recall ever having a cold sore, but my wife does.

A newly acquired genital herpes infection would not cause symptoms that quickly.  The best thing to do is to see your provider to have this looked at if it continues to bother you.
