Which Test Result should I rely on at true?

by Power60kg, Oct 01, 2008 11:29AM
I noticed a small red bump on the upper right side of my groin and my groin glands on both sides was slightly swollen  in the second week of March 2008.  The bump popped and it begun to heal with Campho Phenique it took 7 days to heal.  I went to get a private blood test from Labsafe (HerpesSelect IGG specific) after the bump begin to heal.  9 days later the test came back negative for HSV 1 and positive HSV 2- 4.65 (antibodies).   I went to a STD clinic and they suspected I probably have herpes (no culture could be captured based on what I told them) and gave me Valtrex which I been on for 6 months.  In August 2008, I went to my primary doctor and was tested for Hep A and B, Syphillis, Gonorherra, and IGM Herpes test and 3 weeks later all came back negative.  I read the IGM was not reliable so I convince my doctor to take other tests available and he drew blood for HIV, Herpes IGG, and Herpes PCR in Sep 2008.  As of yesterday, the nurse called me and stated all test in Sep came back Negative.  I have read that Valtrex will not change the IGG test so the question is: do I really have Herpes and should I still take Valtrex? Should I take another IGG test in 3 months and my doctor will not do Western Blot.  I have not had an outbreak since the one red bump in mid March 2008 and since it has  been 6 months  (Sept 30, 2008) for the second test which test is true the 1st in March or the 2nd in Sept? Sorry I do not have the  number breakdown result from the IGG test in Sep 2008 at this posting. Your advice is appreciated because my Primary Care Providers is a young military doctor who might not have many years in the field of STD since he stated the 100 percent results is a culture. Thanks
