I have never had a herpes symptom or outbreak. However, In June, I decided to get a Herpes blood test (HSV1/HSV2). It was IGG. It came back positive for both HSV1 and HSV2. However, several months later in December, I got retested with the same test. This time, it came back positive for HSV1 but negative for HSV2. My doctor didn't know what to say since the results are supposed to be accurate for these tests. So a few days later, I got a third test. It again came back positive for HSV1 and negative for HSV2. Can I safely assume that I'm negative for HSV2? What do I make of this?
im not in a medical fiedl whatsoever, but my guess is to forget it. the first one was likely to be a false positive. especially if youre results were maybe under 2.5 for the antibody in hsv2. and the 2 out of 3 tests youve done were negative. i would say forget it.
