Who gave me Herpes?

i just found out i have herpes. ive only been with one person and he has only been with me. how is this possible? i heard that you could get it when somebody with cold sore performs oral sex on you so im thinking that may be the case. but i kiss him and how come i never got oral herpes? and we've been together for 3 yrs and  we've had oral and unprotected sex for such a long time, how come i just got it?

since i got it, does my partner also have it or not since it's his own virus? if he passed his oral herpes to my genitals, is it possible for me to pass my genital herpes to him? he never got symptoms of genital herpes althought he get cold sores.

im still in shocked because ive never slept with anybody but him. he also doesnt have any symptoms.
i was diagnosed 2 wks ago. i got my bloodd drawn and it's negative for antibodies meaning i just got the virus.

what did your lesion culture show? was it hsv 1, hsv2 or just herpes + and not typed?

have either of you had partners prior to each other?

my lesion culture was positive for herpes....
my blood test is negative for antibodies.

no. he is my first and i am his first too.

and i idk which i type..i asked and she said it doesnt tell?
i will go to a gynecologist again and ask them for the type.
my bf hasnt been tested yet. hw said hes too busy and i think hes not as scared coz he doesnt have symptoms and since he know he didnt get the virus fr me and that this is my first breakout.

typing of all lesion cultures is recommended by the cdc. saves you time and also money when the lesion culture is typed. If you had your lesion culture done within the last 2 weeks, call the clinic and ask them to call the lab to see if they still have the culture for them to type it for you. much faster answers than the  months it can potentially take to find out what type you have.

your bf gets cold sores so you know he has hsv1 orally. odds are he transmitted his oral hsv1 infection to you during oral sex.
