I'm confused you had posted a couple of times how there is a high rate of false negative for hsv 1 igg blood test, is there a reason for that, and also does this mean that you can have a false positive? What's the difference? How will you really know that you have a false neg if you never get a cold sore, and could you have a false pos if you have very high point on blood test but never had a symptom.
I'm asking on a new thread because it's unrelated to my issues.
Humm ok, I was just curious, let's say you had a neg for igg hsv 1 but had a suspicious cold sore would it be wise to get a wester blot? Is the western blot more accurate for hsv 1?
Again just curious since my hsv1>5 can't be false.
Oh and I also wanted to comment on how it seems like hsv 1 and hsv 2 are opposites when it comes to testing! Like low pos hsv 2 is more possibly false while low pos hsv 1 is more possibly a positive!
