Last Sunday I was with a girl unprotected,  there was no penetration but there was genital contact and rubbing.  Wed I noticed a discomfort in the top of my penis.  No noticeable discharge or anything just mild burning.  I went to the doctor on Saturday and was perscribed cipro,  Now it is Wednesday still have the burning and discomfort on the tip of the penis as well as burning, prickling feeling on inner thighs.  Tescticles seem rather red and swollen also a slight fever.  I am scared as hell and returning to the doctor on Saturday.  What does this sound like?

FYI-All my tests came back negative.  I was told irritation is due to weakened immune system from illness.  I thought I would let anyone know who may read this in the future looking for similar symptoms.  My only advice would be if you are worried go directly to the walk in clinic and ask to be tested for everything.  They are helpful and it sure beats worrying about it.

Grace.  After almost two months of worrying I got a sore throat on the right side only.  I was diagnosed with mono after they preformed a blood test.  I have been using a antifungal prescribed by the doctor for the rash whitch seems to be helping.  I think I will get a herpes test at 3 months just to be sure.  Is there anyway the mono/hepres test will interfer with one another?

It has been over a month I still have the burning sensation in the urethra and have noticed a slighlty sore throat.  The burning seems to be more sever lately but remains on and off.  Also when I urinate it drips alot more than usual afterwards.  I am wondering if I didnt have gonorhea or chlamidia and the drugs maybe didnt quite cure it or a yeast infection.  I also heard that the urine test for these shoujld be done at the beginning of urination without wiping which they werent.  Im getting extremely frustrated with this.

this really doesn't sound at all like herpes going on.  continue to follow up with your providers as you have been.

The gonorhea and chlamidia tests came back negative and urine looked ok.  Burning seems worse with heat.  Was feeling a bit better now have a fever and upset stomach again.  I was thinking alot of symptoms were anxiety related as well but just when I think things seem better something else comes up.  I felt better after the Cerfixime, then worse again, felt better this weekend now feel sick tonight.  I folllow up with doctor Saturday again.  He gave me muscle relaxants for epidimutus and they seem to help with the pain but the urethra discomfort continues on and off and the burning itching in the groin/thighs returned today.  I dont know what to do anymore I just want this to clear up.  Do you still think this sounds like a fungal infection Grace?

I have been using some over the counter antifungal cream and keeping the area dry which seemed to help.  I still have occasional burning/discomfort at the tip of the penis and my right testicle, thigh, abdomen can hurt like hell at times.  I'm supposed to see the doctor for a follow up this Saturday. No test results back yet.  How long does this take to clear up?  It can be really painful at times.  Can it be caused by something not STD related?  Is there anything I can do to aid the recovery?  Please help.

Does this seem right?  Why do the symptoms seem to worsen with antibiotics?  How long till this clears up?  I am not taking cipro anymore he figured that the previous drugs and new ones would be enough?  Thanks for  your input.

So last night things seemed to be getting better, but then I was showering and noticed a large lump in my scrotum above my testicle.  I went to the clinic to have it checked out and explained the previous symptoms. on duty doctor examined it and didnt seem to worried but gave me 4 cefixime and one azithromycin.  By the time she had examined the swelling (lump) had gone down.  She is sending me for an ultrasound of the testicle and urine tests. 2 hours after taking the antibiotics the burning in my legs returned as well as the redness in my testicles as well as buring in the urethra that had seemed to subsided the previous two days.  This morning I went to the initial doctor for a follow up and because the lump in he right testicle returned in the shower again.  He examined and is sending me for urine test and confirmed the xray but didnt seem to worry.  He also thinks the burning sensation in my legs is more of a mental thing.  He said I probably have epididymis and to follow up next week.  Also to clarify the initail contact was her rubbing her vagina on my penis but no penetration.

They tested the urine but the results are not back yet.  I wouldnt have thought herpes at first but I experienced some flu like symptoms (fever achy) on Saturday and havent had much of an appetite.  (Could be more of a mental thing)  The burning at the tip of the penis seemed a less severe today.  THe burning on the thighs ect seems to come and go it.  I have felt the burning as high as my belly button and as low as my calf.  Does seem to be more so in area that would be rubbed by skin or clothing such as waistline.  If it is a fungal infection could it have been caught by the encounter?  The timing seems funny for somrthing to just appear.  If so is this common?  Thanks for your reply I will post details when I know more.

not having sex means the risk of herpes is very, very low. Did they do testing on your urine that they prescribed the cipro?

This sounds more like a fungal infection than herpes.
