Would like some advice please...

Hi I'm a 27 year old male. I had unprotected oral sex about 12 days ago. About 5 days after I noticed a itching burning sensation on the shaft of my penis, just below the head. The are no visible sores or lesions. Just a bit of redness in the area. I have been to my local sexual health clinc and they took a swab and said it was unlikely that it was herpes. The doctor thought it could be a skin irratiton and gave me an hydro cortisone cream. 1% I think.

I had something similar about 18 months ago. Went to the same doctor then too. I've had the itching and burning sensation for a week now. I masturbated last night and straight afterwards I noticed what I thought was a raised lump. But it disappeared a few hours later, just leaving a small red mark.

What are your thoughts on this? I've just started seeing a new girl and wasn't going to have sex until I found out my results and this went away. Is there any more info you would like to know?

Thanks life360, it's been 10 days now since I've had the stinging burning sensation. It hasn't really improved, just still the same pink areas. One looks like a pink spot. No blisters. Would it be safe to say that this is not hepres? As there would of been blisters appeared by now?

Hi, first of all herpes sores are NOT puss filled nor firm but are clear liquid. Most often these type of irritations from oral sex are fungal related coupled with the inflamation from the mouth rubbing and contact with the teeth..
Its best for those that are sexually active to confirm their herpes status just t make sure for the protection of others. What your describing really dont appear herpes related.

Could it be mild symptoms?

Thanks for the reply, yeah I'm a little paranoid that this might be herpes. If it is, would the hydrocortisone cream flare it up?

I think you're ok.  If it were herpes you'd know it.  It's a CLUSTER of TINY pus filled bumps on top of a red area.  Exactly like a lip cold sore.  Then it scabs up and goes away a few days or week later.

You might have a pimple or rash, I once had that myself and an injection made it go away.  Get tested to rule out syphilis, but you likely have no std... I would guess.  And use some lube next time.
