Yeast Infection Or...Herpes

So about 4 or 5 days ago I became very itchy and dry, I have never had a yeast infection so I dont know what one feels like or what the signs are for one. Im very worried about herpes because while looking for signs of a yeast infection I found many things saying how Herpes and Yeast Infections mimic one another so now im a freaked out...i have started dating this new guy and am very scared he might have given me something or i might have given him something. I cant see any bumps or sores...i havent had any strange discharges, when i pee its not the peeing that hurts is more when it touches the skin around my vagina, so i am not sure what to do at this point. Does this sound like just a yeast infection or something more?

the best thing to do is to be seen and get a proper exam done. get tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally as well as a visual exam to look for anything abnormal going on.  

have you and your new fellow discussed std testing?  have you talked about what you both were tested for and when?

Yeah I need go to the DR but i dont have insurance right now and I know thats no excuse but I'm trying to wait until I can get insurance. I am a single mom and a full time, unemployed student so money is tight right now and I have had full work ups for STD's done in the past so I know they are very expensive, I have been very healthy about myself.
Thats why I thought I would ask on here if it seems like just a yeast infection or something more.

You can always go to the health department and have yourself checked. Some are even free. U could also go to the drug store and get some monistat to see if that clears it up.

I never recommend self treating. if you guessed wrong ( and women on average only correct self diagnose vaginal yeast 1/3 of the time ), your future fertility could be at risk if you ignored a std.

Planned parenthood charges on a sliding scale. your local health department can treat you low cost or not cost.  If you are a college student, check out your student health center.
