Yeast and small red bumps which appear to be in a cirle

I recently had unprotected sex with a girl I've known for a couple months two times a day from September 5th to the 14th. The night of the 14th I noticed what appeared to be a rash on my testicles and base of my penis. I went to the clinic on the 16th and I was told that it was only an irritation and I was given 150mg of diflucan.  It cleared up and was looking better, so I had sex again with her 12 days later on the 28th of September; we did it at night and then again in the morning but I noticed she was somewhat dry in the morning and by that afternoon of the 29th, I immediately noticed that the irritation had returned.

By the time I went to bed on the 29th, it was 10 times worse and itched way more than the first time, when it appeared weeks earlier and I couldn't even sleep this time. It came back with a vengeance. My testicle were extremely red and itchy and somewhat scaly with red irritation and small red spots going up the base of my penis.

So I went back to the doctor on Oct. 2nd and he gave me more diflucan and told me to buy some monistat 7, that it was a yeast infection.  I noticed on Oct. 3rd about 5 small red bumps on the top side at the base of my penis in the pubic hair region that seem to be in a circle. The bumps are not big and they are not blisters but they are a little larger than just a spot.

Can these be associated with yeast or have I possibly been misdiagnosed and have had herpes since September? Does any of this sound like herpes at all? It's taking longer to heal this time as well, like the diflucan isn't working as well this time (but it did come back much worse). The only thing I am doing different this time is using the monistat 7 twice daily. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

More info: I tested negative for all STD's, Did not take an HIV or HPS test at the time, I did test negative for HIV in Oct of 2007 and I have only had 4 sexual partners in the last year-two of which I know are HIV negative and the one most recent wouldn't shop up anyway, I Have an autoimmune disorder called Vitiligo-which the doctor said makes me more susceptible to yeast infections if my partner has them, My partner did have a yeast at the time during September, She swears that she doesn't have Herpes, Since my Oct 2 visit-the redness and itchiness has decreased and so has the irritation going up the base of my penis but after seeing these small circular pattern bumps, i am worried again.

ok I finally found some good yeast pics in men that actually look similar to what I have on my testes and penis base.  Most of the pics I could find were were extremely horrible on the head of the penis, which is totally off from I am experiencing

The guy in the pic I just found is like 20 times worse though and even got on his inner thigh.  He must have been going through some hell. But i am feeling much better though after just seeing his pictures!  Mine is the same only much milder.  So I'll skip the ER visit today. lol  I am the type to go to ER freaking out over a yeast infection though!  haha

I'm still confused about the circle pattern of red bumps but the closer I look, it might just be a coincedence that it appears like that because there are about three more smaller ones to the side that actually don't make it a circle, that just go more along with the yeast infection.  But I'm going to look for ringworm pics now. Thanks! I love you!  : )

I don't recommend the ER actually - they are the best place to go for broken bones  and heart attacks but anything in the genital area they aren't the best place to go for advice.  I'd wait at this point and follow up tuesday with your provider. It's the better option.

This really sounds more like ringworm than herpes.  I don't think monistat or diflucan are good treatments for that.  I think you can buy lamisil otc - go pick up some of that and try that instead a few times a day and see if that works better.

thanks for your reply.  I have to wait  until Tuesday but I am definitely going back to the doc. again.  I am considering even going to the ER now because I won't be able to sleep without knowing.  I'm tripping out.  I don't even talk to the girl anymore because she's crazy and I've only had one yeast infection in my life when I was 18 after having sex four times a day with my new girlfriend at the time.  This girl and I were having a lot of sex, but I have never had anything that has made my balls this irritated and itch like this and even at the base of my penis.  Things are getting better though but I'm wondering if it's not both, yeast and herpes after seeing these little red bumps that appear to be in a circle, like a star shape almost.  But I've had no flu symptoms and no burning.  I'm confused. Thanks for your help! :)

sounds like it's time to return to your provider for further evaluation.  It could still be yeast or it could be a folliculitis or something at this point.

If you are worried about herpes then both you and your partner should get type specific herpes igg blood tests to see what your status is.
