I'd say bout 5 times. All while using protection. Only in the months of September and October. Well in November I found he was sleeping with another girl at the same time.. Which of course alarmed me. I ended up going on vacation
in late October and my period was on. Only this time when my cycle was ending my vagina felt extremely dry and irritated and I developed a yeast infection a few days later. I have never had one of these before. I had a white cottage cheese like discharge
itching and burning, red, irritated, and bleeding because I had scratched so bad. Well this lasted I'd say up until I took a hot bath in vinegar, used vagisil itch cream and my next cycle came on. After the November period I was fine. But after it went off I developed minor itching. But when I looked down there I noticed I had a few tiny little cuts. They went away within 2-3 days. This has recurred again after my December cycle.
Could it be a possibility that I have contracted genital herpes from this guy being that he was sleeping with 2 or 3 girls at the same time? (I talked to the other girl who said she has had no history of STI's or HIV) But I am still concerned and scared. I'm going to the dermatologist today to get tested but just need some advice or personal experiences.
It sounds like you never adequately treated your yeast infection!!! Not a good idea - the longer you let those boogers linger - the harder they are to clear up :( At this point I recommend going to a doctor to be seen - get checked for yeast and bacterial infections and also for all other std's while you are there. Don't risk your future fertility - follow up on this now and get answers and proper treatment!
Thanks alot Ms. Grace. I went to the dermo today and told her the same thing I posted here. She said it does sound like genital herpes but she said that before she even looked at my vulva. She gave me a blood test and I should know something by Friday. But just a word of informity to others.
Genital herpes outbreaks vary in EVERYONE. Some are so minor they are overlooked. Excuse my French but this is coming from the horse's *** aka The Doc. So be aware of any changes down there guys. But I will let you all know what happens Friday after results are in.
No see that's the tricky part. I've never had any blisters, bumps, etc. Although these little cuts sting they tend NOT to crust over. They just heal on their own in about 2 or 3 days. If it does crust hell I don't ever see it.
But nope I've never had any HSV symptoms before. EVER. Have always used protection everytime I had sex.
And no she did not test me for yeast or other bacterial infections Ms. Grace. She jumped straight into "My first thought would be that it is Herpes." Like she made that statement before she even looked at the little cut on my vulva. So I don't know.
I'd return to your regular doctor then and get tested for yeast and bacterial infections. As I said you never adequately treated your previous yeast infection and you need further evaluation to see what is going on now - not just a looksee and guesses. Even if you do have herpes on the blood test - that doesn't mean that everything that goes on in between your legs is due to herpes. Sometimes it just sucks to be female.
If you wait long enough they are reliable for hsv2 and almost as reliable for hsv1. They only tell what you have though, not where you have it. Nothing replaces a lesion culture and typing of actual symptoms if you have them though.
Ok cool. Well my other health factors could be contributing to this also. I am a diabetic on insulin twice a day, i have a thyroid disorder, and I also have PCOS. And being that I only treated the previous yeast infection with home remedies.. (no monistat or other medicated aids) As you said there could be some lingering infection or bacteria.
The cuts only last for about 2-3 days you said. That certainly does not sound like herpes to me. As grace mentioned above perhaps you did not fully treat your yeast infection. They to can leave you with cuts let alone the irritation is just about unbearable. Hang in there and good luck*
Well the doctor called this morning and i tested negative for HSV-2. No traces at all. But positive for HSV-1. I've been having canker sores since I was a little girl. 1 fever blister out my whole life. That's it. So I'm in the clear. The irritation "down there" is a possibility of bacteria or dermatitis. Nothing serious the Doc said. So.. YAY ME!
I've never had a breakout of blisters on my mouth or anythiing.. oh and my bad i just found out canker sores are not related to HSV-1. Isn't it possible that I've had HSV-1 since I've been a little girl?
Yes I know. Hereditary type ish. Mom and dad have diabetes and thyroid disorders. Oh and thanks for the insight. "Little girls" like me just have questions... That's all. ;-p
Is it possible that I could have HSV-1 genital? I haven't recieved oral sex since june or july I believe. Is it possible these symptoms are just showing up now? Even though if the lil cut itches it only last about 2-3 days. And i see no signs of scabbing or crusting.
