a sore, few bumps and fever

About three months ago, I had oral sex.  A week later, I noticed what looked like a sore a little above my anus.  a few days, or even a week after, I noticed a couple of bumps on my buttocks and I just dismissed them to be pimples.  The area around the "sore" became red.  I thought it was a rash, it would secrete a clear liquid and would make it itch.  this lasted for about 1-1.5 months.  About three weeks after I noticed the "sore", I came down with a fever (102F) which lasted for a night and a day one weekend--very short.  I got tested last week for a variety of STDs (Hepatitis B & C, HIV-1, Herpes Simplex Type 1/2, Chlamydia Trachomatis, Neisseria Gonorrhoeae, and Syphilis), and the tests came back negative for all.  I'm worried that I may have something and the tests that I took didn't catch it.  Or I may have something completely different than what I was tested for.  I'm really hoping that it's nothing to be alarmed about, but if you have an idea of what it is that I could have had, I would really appreciate it if you could let me know.

Allow 3 - 6 months (after sex/exposure) for an accurate Herpes test.

This doesn't sound like herpes because an outbreak never lasts for a month and a half, a few weeks at the most.  While HSV-1 can be acquired genitally if your partner has a visible cold sore and performs oral sex on you, the risk isn't very high.  If the sore comes back, go to the doc to get it checked out.  The bumps are probably just pimples, but while not common, herpes can appear on the buttocks.  Also, if you had a type specific IgG test for herpes, such as HerpeSelect, you probably would have had a positive numerical value by now if you were infected.  In some instances, it can take up to four months for a positive result.
Good luck,
Em
