asymptomatic HSV 2

I recently received test results that stated I was positive for HSV 2 with a 4.55. What does this number REALLY mean?

it means you are + for hsv2 and it's over the typical false positive cut off range.

did you have any symptoms or was this just a routine screening?

do you have a regular partner?

I was getting my yearly pap & bloodwork done and always have been tested. Yes, I have been with the same man for a yr now. Oddly enough, I was tested for std's at a health fair in June that came back clean! I had no personal reason to be tested then,but a friend was embarrassed to go alone. I haven't had any kind of symptoms whatsoever,so I was absolutely horrified when I received a call from my doctor...

it's doubtful that herpes testing was included in the testing at the health fair. do you have your paper with your results on it?  

has your partner been tested yet?

I have the results from the previous test and it included everything that my recent test had(except pap,of course!) They state "non-reactive" on both types of herpes. Thank you for your feedback on my posts! I really appreciate it.

well definitely get your partner tested then to see what their status is and go from there.
