can i spread to my children

hi i have blisters on my vagina and the doc said it looked like genital herpes. now this must be lying dormant for over ten years. i know my husband hasn't cheated and i certainly haven't. i haven't been tested yet . is there anything else that could cause these blisters? seriously painful to pee .

anyway my real worry and i am terrified over this is to do with my children. both are still in nappies. could i pass to them by changing their nappies once i make sure my hands are clean??

also one of my daughters is teething. if my hands are clean can i still rub gel on her gums .

before these blisters i didn't know i had the virus and did all of this stuff and my kids are
fine.

maybe i don't have virus or maybe wishful thinking

you'll need to get proper testing to find out if this is indeed herpes or not. A visual diagnosis only and no testing is inappropriate.

you don't have to do anything special with herpes as far as hand washing. The virus is easily killed with soap and water ( or hand sanitizers ). Just the regular washing after using the toilet or touching yourself intimately is all it takes.

you and your partner can both get tested now with igg blood testing and go from there.

no testing what so ever. she said when it blister ed and hurt to pee so much that it was herpes and not a yeast infection. could you get blisters with yeast infection

so you haven't had any testing at all yet? Not even a lesion culture of the symptoms your provider saw?  did they do any other testing like for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally?

at this point you and your husband should seek out type specific herpes igg blood testing to see who has what and go from there.

no, genital herpes isn't an issue for your children.
