can u give yourself genital herpes from a coldsore???

i was just wondering cause i get a lot of coldsores. can i give myself genital herpes if i touch my couldsore and then touch myself? Thanks

Well hopefully after you touch a cold sore, you are washing your hands.

You aren't going to give yourself hsv1 genitally though with having a well established oral hsv1 infection.

Have you thought about daily suppressive therapy to reduce the number of cold sores you are having if you have them frequently?

no i havent had therapy, can i ask my doctor for that and how does that work???? n yes i did i washed then i put sanitizer i just wanted to make sure, thank you grace! =^>

Daily suppressive therapy helps to prevent cold sores before they get a chance to show up.  You can use valtrex, acyclovir or famvir for it.  Give your doctor a call and ask about it if you are interested.
