I advise going to your provider to be seen. It's more likely to be an upper respiratory virus than it is a std this time of the year. Don't get tunnel vision.

i have a small dark spot on the bottom of my lip with a little redness around it however my lips are chapped so most of my lips are red and irratatted.I also have a sore throat and my tongue and mouth feels some what swollen, tonsils are also swollen. What would be give away signs that its oral herpes.
How long does it take for a outbreak to occur its been a week since ive had sex with anyone and i used a condom for everything, but did kiss , i have already scheduled a blood and urine test to test for every std i can imagine and have to wait two weeks for the reults so i may be paranoid but i want as much information as possible..
is this considered a std if you can get it through just kissing?should i be very conserned if i have oral herpes if it so common, ive seen pictures which look pretty bad, none of my symptoms resemble the pictures ive seen, no blisters or puss just a dark spot. yet i dont know how its suppossed to look or feel if its just in ealry stages.
Oral herpes is usually transmitted thru kissing.
Once again, we don't have exact stats for all of this. Oral hsv1 is incredibly common and not many of us make it to the old folks home without it.

is it possible to oral herpes to the mouth of another individual through kissing.
how likely is it
Canker sores are not herpes.
We don't have stats as to the risk of transmitting oral hsv1 to the gnital area. Protected oral sex also reduces the risks of contracting a std from oral sex.

what would the chances of someone having a canker sore in their mouth(assuming herpes) of transfering oral herpes to the genitals of an unifected individual by oral sex while they where wearing a condom or to the uninfected individuals mouth.
If there is an active lesion present then the risk for transmission is pretty high. Condoms don't cover the entire genital area. I've seen estimates as high as 75% rate of transmission if sex takes place during active genital symptoms :(
The risk without an active lesion is very low. In fact if you had sex 2x/week for an entire year, the risk would be about 3% if you always avoided sex during obvious symptoms and always used condoms.
