cold sore transmission

My partner gave me oral sex a few days ago. I noticed the following day that he had a scab from a  cold sore. Can a scab be infectious? It fell off 2 days after the act. how likely is it that i will get HSV-1 genital herpes? i have never had cold sores before, so I am not sure I have the HSV-1 positive. I am negative for HSV-2. Thanks!

Genital herpes can be either type not just HSV-2.  You should get the results for your HSV-1 as well.

I recently took a blood test to check for genital herpes (HSV-2). Tested negative. Never asked for the results for HSV-1. Could call my doctor and find out.
