I've recently gotten results for hsv-2 igg of 1.1, my gyno informs me that this result is equivacle and should be tested again. However, from my understanding this result represents recent exposure. I have never experienced any symptoms nor has my husband. My husband has been the only partner I've had for the past 5 years, and I have trust that he is practicing the same. So my questions are how can this result translate to a recent exposure when I didn't introduce anything new in the past 5 years? Could this be a mistake? Would igg serum
levels ever decrease? And finally what does inconclusive or equivacle mean on a exam of this sort? Isn't it positive or negative, have hsv or you don't ?
Thank you.
