confused on test herpes.

I got my test result from lapcorp. It said i am positive for herpes antibodies.  I guess it a non-type since they told me to get tested again to find out if i have hvs1 or 2.
HSV I/II  IgG 57.8 High Index 0.0-0.8
Neg 1.0

Does this test tell me that i have either hsv 1 or 2 or even both? IS it possible that i have none? Any chance it a false positive?

Received a email from Lapcorp."Your STD test results are attached. It appears that your body has developed antibodies for the herpes virus. This is not necessarily indicative of an active infection. The exact typing (Herpes 1 or Herpes 2) was unable to be determined with the test that you took."

I am going get test again.

people who doesn't have hsv-1 thinks it a big deal. I don't have symptom of hsv-1. how do i protected my partner from getting it? Is it safe to perform oral sex on her or kiss her?

Your partner has to understand the facts of HSV.  It's not going to kill you and it is merely a skin condition.  If your partner can't move past seeing that this is nothing serious and chooses not to be with you then that is their choice are they really worth it?  

HSV-1 is common about half the adult population has it.  So if that many people have it do you think it is that big of a deal?

Yeah I did great site. It mention that 90% will have hsv-1 by the age of 50. I am the only one tested for hsv-1 in my family now i feel alone. How would you tell some one that you love that you have herpes (hsv-1). I want a gf but scared because i have herpes and that she doesn't want to be with me.

yes you shed even when obvious cold sores aren't present. it's not frequent but it happens.

Some people with HSV-1 orally may not ever have a cold sore.  However there is a period where the virus is active on the skin but without symptoms we call this asymptomatic shedding.  The virus can infect a HSV-1 negative person.  Knowing your partners status will help you with any precautions you may need to take.  

Taking a test again may not change your results.  You are welcome to re-do it but chances are you will test positive again. Its your money and our economy needs more stimulation :-)

Grace thank you, If i ever had a cold sore in my life Can i still transmitted the virus to people with neg hsv-1? If it possible i will never have a cold sore? I still thinking of retest the hsv test since i have no symptom

some people never have a recurrence of genital hsv1.

usually hsv1 doesn't present with just 1 pimple with the initial infection. usually they are not pus filled either.

how long does it take for hsv 1 to reoccur? 1month? can hsv 1 just be one big single pimple with white/yellow puss?

I had unprotected oral sex and about month later i have a big single red pimple poped it white/yellow puss came out. no pain or itch.. right now i don't have no pimple so i can't get swab test. Could that pimple be hsv1?

most people who have hsv1 orally never get obvious cold sores to know that they are infected.  1 out of every 3 of us contract hsv1 orally before we even set foot in public school even.

Grace i have a question. i never had a cold sore nor kiss a girl in my life. but i got oral sex, had a red pimple on my penis shaft but i poped it white/yellow puss came out. could that pimple be hsv-1? It look like one big pimple or bumps or blisters doesn't itch.

Some people do not show signs of hsv1 and may  never. Hsv 1 is typically passed with a romantic type kiss in adults. It is possible to spread it other ways but it's when your younger. I'll let someone else take it from here as I'm not an expert.

finally got my igg specific test result. it said im neg for hsv-2 but positive for hsv-1. I never had a cold sore in my life and never kissed anyone in the lips. is there any other way i could get hsv-1 beside kissing? Since i never have any symptom could i give someone hsv-1 by just a kiss?  here my result

yeah herpes can look like red pimple. I was test that i have herpes antibodies in my system 57 high igg hsv 1&2  combined. i know i don't have hsv 1. so mostly likely that red pimple is genital herpes. right mistakeguy

If every person that had a red pimple had herpes a lot of people would be having herpes.

Well, you shouldn't be scared to "find out the truth". You might not have genital herpes at all and spend the rest of you life thinking you do. Worst case scenario here is confirming a positive HSV2, which you're already convinced you have it because of a "red pimple" in the penis. Many people get pimple in the penises, it's not necessarily herpes.

Go ahead and get tested, you might be worried for no reason.

You shouldn't be scared to find out your status. Would you rather worry for a long time about having it or find out for certain. Even if tested positive it's not the end of the world. You may have to adjust certain things but it will not ruin your life! Get the test and post the results so grace and others can further help you. Make sure you get the right tests so you don't waste your time/ money!!!

But it doesn't tell me which one or two i have. but i already think i have genital herpes since i have a red pimple. I don't know if have want take another test confirm it that i do that genital herpes since it going hurt me even more to find out it true.

i know i need to get a another igg test to know what kind of herpes i got. but i'm too scared to find out i got genital herpes since i'm still young. the pimple i have; have no symptom. Just a red pimple but it doesn't seem to disappear.

I'm going to tell you this again - you can't ascertain a single thing from a combined herpes igg result being positive!!!!    You will need to repeat your herpes testing with the proper testing to get a better idea of your status and go from there.   should your "pimple" reoccur, be seen again for a work up.
