confusing HSV1 and HSV2 results

confusing HSV1 and HSV2 results

About six months ago I tested equivocal for both HSV1 (IgG 1.00) and HSV2 (1gG 0.91).

I just tested again and received test results showing negative for HSV1 and positive for HSV2 (1.71).

Can you please explain the reversal on HSV1 and the advancement of HSV2 and the likelihood of these results being accurate?

Many thanks.

your hsv2 igg is a low positive and will need confirmed with further testing. we recommend a herpes WB.

are you still with the same partner you were over the summer?

Thanks for your reply.  Yes, this is the same partner.  We've been together for four years.  He is HSV1 positive and HSV2 negative.

it's almost certain your hsv2 igg is a false positive but confirm it for peace of mind.
