continuous ganital herpes outbreaks

I was diagnosed with genital herpes several years ago; my diagnosis has been confirmed by several specialists since.
I had experienced several different sorts of outbreaks over the years and I even tried taking Valtrex on and off.
about 6 month ago I visited a urologist and was informed that it is possible that since I have no clear evidence of any outbreaks in over 6 month that I will most probably never experience any more outbreaks and even if I do, the will be rear and less severe. However, approximately 5 month later, about 6 weeks ago I experienced a very severe outbreak and as the original lesions began healing and scabbing, I experienced a second outbreak in 3 different locations of my genitals. It took another 3 weeks for the second outbreak to completely heal, but scaring still remained from the severity of the outbreak. 2 weeks later I experienced another severe outbreak at a different location on my genitals, this time I visited a STD specialist during the outbreak and was confirmed that it is indeed a pretty severe herpes outbreak, now its almost 2 weeks since the last outbreak began and it is healing and scabbing, this morning as the last few remaining scabs are peeling I noticed another lesion forming hence indicating another outbreak. I'm a very healthy 35 year old adult. I'm fit, athletic, keep a very healthy regimented diet, and sleep 7-8 hours per night. Also interesting is the fact that as severe as the outbreaks are I don’t experience any discomfort, itching, or pain. Just the sight of these extreme ugly lesions. I have been trying to research genital herpes symptoms and outbreaks and there are almost nothing on this kind of continuous outbreaks
I would appreciate any information, recommendation, or suggestions. Please help!

Get a zapper. It is an electrical device that kills viruses and bacteria. check the web page www.bestzapper.com. If you use it continuously you will inactivate the virus forever. Read about it. I already use it for a stomach bacteria and worked great. Now I am using it for my fir ob. I will keep posting the results

Hi Danielle - I recommend you ask your questions in your own new posts, as they may get ignored in other people's posts on separate topics.

I'm not aware of any interactions between the antivirals and alcohol, but I believe this is a question you should ask your medical provider.

I've had herpes since 2010 and I am just now having a outbreak and I've been taking my meds off and on because I've been drinking to and it's getting worst but the question I have is how long should I wait to start taking it again after I drink and for how long and also how many a day. I take Acyclovir 400 mg

I feel for you dude - my partner is in exactly the same boat as you except she's a female - its a very stressful situation and from what I've seen in my partner is that the anxiety and stress/depression levels are almost directly linked to the outbreaks ie reduce the anxiety and stress and with the help of some Anti virals things settle down nicely and have actually become quite well controlled - the strict  family beliefs I also find to be very much a negative obstacle which is 90% mind driven and not healthy - at the end of the day its a dis-ease of the system so ease the system and then strengthen the system slowly over time.
Its not easy and I hope you start to get to grips with your management of it.

Chances of this being another STD is next to none.  Condom protected sex is the one that reduces risk to the STD's.  You need to be seen by your provider.  If you feel an STD is of concern seek an STD clinic in your area.  Your religious views have you worried I would consider looking into a different religion or holding off on sex with anyone until you are married.

Thanks Grace,

I grew up in a very religious family and was taught that sex is a sin, I am starting to think that what I was taught might as well be correct, I’m barely having sex and lately when I do I have been receiving lasting gifts.
Here is the latest incident:
This past Sunday morning (yesterday) I had protected intercourse and unprotected oral, with this women that I'm seeing, I am being very careful and taking all precautions as far using a condom, taking anti viral daily therapy and checking myself constantly before sex. However, within 24 hours I began feeling very itchy in my scrotum area, and this morning (1 day later) I noticed a red rash spreading throughout my scrotum, and now (several hours later) it has spread to several red spots on my penis, and has went from itching to a slight burning sensation. I'm pretty sure that this is unrelated to my genital herpes condition, but I'm still concerned what this is. Is it possible that I got a yeast infection from the women I had sex with?? Or perhaps another STD?? or maybe its just some fungus?? I am pretty sure that it is related to the sexual encounter though.
I'm trying to get an appointment by my doctor, but he is just a general practitioner and I’m concerned that I might need to be seen by a specialist and that wont happen for a couple of days.
I would appreciate any assistance. Thanks,

this new thing sounds like something non-herpes as you suspect.

you will still get ob's while on suppressive therapy.   back in the day I got about 20 ob's  a year. started on suppressive therapy and it went down to 3 or 4 a year. big reduction that's for sure.

you can consider switching to valtrex 500mg 2x/day for suppression to see if that controls things better too. not sure if your insurance makes that affordable or not.

honestly it's not worth crotch watches like this either.  you know what your herpes feels like. no need to add to you anxiety.

I wanted to add the following.

I began seeing someone very casually several weeks ago and based on my condition we decided to abstain from sex during any symptoms of an outbreak and always use condoms regardless.
As mentioned in my earlier post, I check and examine myself several times a day and yesterday I noticed in my pubic area a red pimple forming which looks like a zit/ingrown hair it has a white puss center with 2 hair follicles in the center, I have researching this all day to make sure that it is not related to my herpes condition. It does not look anything like my previous and ongoing reoccurring outbreaks.
My main concern is not if I have herpes (which I already know that I do) I just want to know if I should treat this as an outbreak?? I am trying not to, so I can relax and enjoy my upcoming weekend with the women that I'm seeing, and not stress about it.
It would really help if you can confirm that. Thanks,

Hi, it has been a while since our first discussion.
The following is a brief update on my situation.
In the end of Feb I went to see a doctor that is a Herpes expert. I actually made an appointment during a severe outbreak. He took a swab culture and did some tests to see if there is possibility that I have any issues along with herpes. It was confirmed what I already knew, that I indeed have genital herpes. 2 weeks later I had another ob, my 3rd in 3 month. I realized that I have no option but to start treating my virus, I reluctantly began acyclovir within a day of noticing the symptoms of an ob, it seemed to work. It reduced the severity as well as the duration (5 days vs. 2 weeks). Seeing how it controlled and heeled my ob I continued on daily suppressive therapy and was very optimistic and hopeful that I will be able to suppress my herpes and go back to living a somewhat normal life again. (I began with a daily dose of 2x 400mg)
However, 2 month later (may May 24) while on daily suppressive therapy I noticed symptoms of another ob coming on. it was after 2 nights of drinking and being out and up till the morning hours (I was on vacation with friends) I immediately contacted my doctor and he suggested that I double the dose which resulted in the ob to be very mild and healing completely within 5 days. I contributed the ob due to my body being physically stressed and rundown. My doctor suggested that I should perhaps consider upping the daily suppressive therapy dosage to 2x800 mg which I decided for now to do only prior to vacation or when I know I have chances of being rundown.
2 month later (July 25th) I was away for the weekend in a social party house in the Hamptons and went out 2 nights in a row (only 1 night of drinking) and not much sleep.
After the 2nd night, in the morning I noticed an ob forming, this was really discouraging since that I had actually been on the higher dosage (2x800mg) 2-3 days prior the outbreak.
Now I feel that I am back to square 1 all over again, and the anxiety and depression that is generated by this, is unbearable. The only small silver lining is that I have seemed to figure out what will set off an outbreak. still depressing knowing that I have to live like an old man with no social life.
I wrote the complete story so that maybe someone with similar experiences can help me or perhaps guide me in a direction that I can receive some help.
I am a tall (6ft5) fit and healthy, intelligent and above average looking 36 yr old, I have a successful business and this is affecting my life so severely. It is/has affected my social life to the point of non existent, and has caused such severe anxiety and depression that is affecting my work as well. I constantly think about it and even check myself several times daily (since I never feel anything during an outbreak).
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Actually your situation is pretty typical.  Most of my friends who have had herpes for a long time and who don't take suppressive therapy, say that they'll go with mild ones here and then and then BAM, 2 or 3 ob's in a row just to annoy the hell out of them it seems.

First off - start on antivirals for a few months just to stop this. If it's keeping you at home, it's time to be far more proactive!  If your insurance doesn't make valtrex affordable , go with acyclovir ( under $20/month in the US in most pharmacies even if you don't have insurance ).  Take it for 2 or 3 months and stop the cycle you are in.

If you are still having ob's while on suppressive therapy, see a dermatologist to make sure you don't have other issues going on at the same time like bacterial skin infections or fungal infections.  Someone just looking at your symptoms and saying aaaah yup those are herpes going on, doesn't always cut it.

thanks for the book recomendation. I kind of figured out that the Urologist did not know much about herpes. and between my visit to a herpes specialist and the research that I have done over the past couple of years I pretty much gathered that the number of ob's will vary from time to time. However, my real concern is with the recent continuous ob's that I have been experiencing, especially after experiencing less then 4 minor ob's per year over 3 years. the more I research and read about herpes the more I find that in general ob's actualy subsides somewhat over time and I can not find anything similar to my situation.
I am not on any treatment right now and have been avoiding all social contact. I would appreciate any recomendations though.

Thanks,

The urologist you saw was totally off base and gave you erroneous info :(     Check out the free herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com for terrific info on herpes if you've never read it yet.

The number of ob's you have will vary from time to time. No ob's though doesn't mean no shedding. This is important if you have a partner who doesn't have hsv2.

How are you treating your herpes right now?
