contracting genitical HPV-1 when already have oral HPV-1

I have the oral herpes virus HSV-1. My boyfriend, to his knowledge, has never had either HSV-1 or HSV-2. If I give my boyfriend oral, he can then contract HSV-1 on his genitals. However, can he then transmit the genital HSV-1 to my genitals when I already have the virus orally? I seem to have the symptoms of genital herpes and this is the only diagnosis I can come up with since we have been monogamous for five years.

your bf needs tested to know his own status. assume nothing you can't make educated decisions about precautions to take until you are both sure of your status.

also if you've had other partners prior to your partner, you too need tested for hsv2 to see if you had it and never knew it until now.
