could this be herpes?

i have been feeling quite tender and sore in the vaginal area for the last 2 weeks and also there are 2 very small lumps
could this be herpes? it has been 5 and a half months since my last sexual contact, if i had been exposed could it only show up now and do these sound like symptoms? i did have a flu like illness 2-3 weeks later and had full sti tests done which all came back negative, however where i am from i was told there is no blood test for herpes it is diagnosed by a genital exam. The symptoms have only started after 5 months so im worried it may have been missed

This is overreading things a bit.

If infected, the majority of people experience symptoms at the site where the virus entered, hence typically the vagina for women. This occurs usually within a week of infection.

Anything 6 weeks afterwards will hence not be related to a herpes infection from that time.

I have been doing some reading about this and I reAd that it can appear on lower back, about 5-6 week's after the sexual incident I broke out in a rash on my lower back like pimples at the time I sseen a Doctor he said it was something viral, however not I'm thinking maybe this was herpes type 2. I was ill at the time but I did not have any genital rash or sores, I did have thrush. Could herpes show in this way? A rash on lower back but no genital sores but 5 months later I have pain and burning in that area! The rash started. Around 6 weeks after possible exposure and lasted around 6 weeks

Most unlikely this is herpes.

The blood test you are after would be for IgG antibodies type specific for HSV1 and HSV2 and this would need to be taken 12 weeks after possible exposure.
