The results you describe are from a blood test and not from the swab.
Obtain the results of the swab and let us know what that says.
Having a herpes sore anywhere below the waist is genital herpes. People either have oral herpes (an outbreak from the breast and up) or genital herpes (anywhere from the waist down). There is no such thing as just having skin herpes.
Its important to know this as the virus sheds, meaning it can be on the surface without a sore appearing and can be on the surface anywhere in the waist and genital areas. So it can be passed while have vaginal sex or oral sex perform on you.
So if your butt crack sore was swabbed and came back positive for hsv1 its genital herpes.
The doctors said it wasn't genital though they said it was a skin herpes.type 1 and I never had an outbreak anywhere only that one bump on the top of the crack.
If you has a swab of the sore and it came back positive for hsv1 then you have genital hsv1 but having an out break on your rear is not common and is called recurrent outbreak (an old infection) as first time outbreaks occur at point of contact like the penis shaft area or vaginal area.

This isn't making a lot of sense. What was the actual result of the swab as shown on a piece of paper?
They said it isn't oral. Yes they came back positive on lesion
Do you have the results of the swab back yet?
Given you have oral HSV1 most likely, then you won't get it elsewhere on your body. Hence it won't surprise me if this comes back negative for HSV.
I haven't had any sores orally.
They said it wasn't genital or oral herpes just type 1 and they did swap the lesion and said it is herpes on the skin
All that can be assumed from the tests are that you appear to be positive for HSV1 and most likely have an oral infection that causes cold sores in the oral region from time to time. Most likely you have had the infection a long time, ever since your youth.
Nothing can be asserted in terms of the lesion. Did they swab the lesion?
