do I have genital herpes?

do I have genital herpes?

Hi there, so basically, I last had sex with my ex boyfriend november 2007. I noticed a couple of bumps on his penis once but didnt really worry about it. We always used condoms when having vaginal sex but not for oral sex. I notice sometimes that I have some really small white bumps on my vagina, like right at the top, above the clitoris. In these 2 years I have never noticed any real itching, I think I had some itching once for a couple of minutes but it went away. I have never really had any redness. None of these bumps ever had scabbed or anything. I have no painfulness when urinating or anything and I have never noticed any of the same bumps anywhere else on my body. Like saying, these bumps aren't very noticeable and they dont hurt at all. They have always stayed the same size but I dont know if they have always been there as I just dont look down there often. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Your bumps sound like something normal - perhaps fordyce spots or sebaceous cysts even.  Follow up on them with your provider for more accurate answers.

If you've never been tested for herpes before then I recommend a type specific herpes igg blood test to see what your status is.  Far better to find out your herpes status from a blood test then from after you've transmitted it to a partner.  Regular std screening in between partners is always a good idea.
