do i have HEREX simlex 2 infection

Hi,
am 27 years male. i have been taking ciproflax for the last 3 months as i had recurrent UTI and also semen infection with E coli. also since i had problems with my urine flow, i have been taking Alfoo tablets for the last 4 months.

now urine fllow has improved and recent cuntlure tests shows negative for both urine and semen. since i complained of minure black spots in my penis head, i was given Zovirax 200 mg 5 times a day for 5 days. after that i had undergone test for Herpex and the folowing results were seen,

HSV 1 IgG 0.34 A.I
HSV 2 IGG 0.43 A.I

HSV 1 IgM :Not detectable
HSV 2 IGM : 0.01 Ratio

could u plz let me knw as to wht the above results show,do i hve the Herpex infection or am all clear and wht those counts means?

plz help me in this, am really worried

I think you are negative for Herpes. It must be more than 1:10 for herpes postive( Grace correct me if I'm wrong)

it's not likely you have herpes going on.

see a dermatologist for the rash you have if your regular provider isn't able to get to the bottom of it.

i forgot to add that i had takev zoviraxZovirax
Zovirax topical200 mg(antiviral) 5 times a day for 5 days , and i had given my blood sample for test around 7 days after the zoviraz dosage was cxompleted, i.e 7 days after the 5 th day of dosage completion

Hi Man, Darkspot on penis is Sking pigmentation or Penile melanosis I guess both are pignemtary disoreder but its not STD even I have on penis head and shaft. I last week I went to Skin Doc he told me not to worry. At this point you have wait for 3 months to get test again IGG gor Herpes. As grace said better check with Skin Doc.

i mean  it shd be all zeros ,, wht those minute vaules mean? does it mean that i have th virus in body and robably not in proper amounts?

it'll never be 0. due to the way they do the test, you will always get a numeric result and as long as it's under the positive range, it's negative.

i thank u all for providing my doubts over herpex simplex. but i problem stil persists.


this started around 6 motnhs back when i started feeling that my urine flow was not proper and steep, it stopped in between and also ecoli infection was detected in urine culture.then after dose of antibiotcs for 5 days, it again repeated. then i took for 2 weeks and after then urine culture was seen to be nehative..
but since i complained slight pain in penis head (inside), i did a semen culture and no it gor ecoli infection...


my urologist  prescribed me 3 months of ciproflax and also alfoo for my  prostrate as my uroflow was not proper.

no my uroflow has improved a lot. but after i tested agaai for semen culture after abt 20 day since my ciproflax dosage was over, i again got positive for Ecloi i nsemen.. this is really frustrating..
again i have been advised to take this time niftran 100mg twice daily for 2 weeks,and this dosage is also over now.

bt am really consused, there is not sever pain but sometimes i feel i have slight pain after masturbation. and some times i feel a slight pain remains in my penis for some duration..

am really confused friends. is it something chronic and do i have to take antibiotc for a lifetime?? ot is there some other problem??

does any kind of examination needs to be done inside of my penis head?

this isn't a herpes issue. I recommend following up on this in an urology related forum from this point forward.
