Your symptoms don't sound like herpes either. You've seen a provider who originally thought this was fungal in nature.
sores inside the mouth typically are canker sores. You can have hsv1 orally and also have canker sores both.
It's time to stop thinking herpes as a cause of your symptoms. continue to follow up with your provider or a dermatologist for further evaluation.
