does this sound like herpes

I was taking a shower the other day and as i pulled back my foreskin to wash my penis there was a sharp pain on the shaft near the head, after inspecting it i figured it to be a small cut.  the next day i went to look again and pulled back the foreskin and a little bit of blood came out, i decided to let this play out over a couple of days after which point the pain is almost all gone but there is a small tender area that appears to be surrounded by some dead skin and it has not gone away for over a weak now, its on the point where the foreskin folds over so there's quite a bit of movement. it doesn't really look like any of the pictures of herpes i've seen online but i'm still pretty paranoid as this started a few days after unprotected sex.  did i just get a cut or could this be the onset of herpes?

You need to stop pulling back your foreskin for a few days and let the skin alone.  Sounds like you are just irritating it even more.

If you are concerned about the unprotected sex you had recently, follow up on this with your provider.

could this be herpes? well it could be but it sounds more like irritation than anything.
