I had a std's test and the results came back with the doctor calling me and telling me I am postitive for both HSV I & II but it does not separate the 2 from each other I dont think. Can you please help me read my results I am really desparate.
HSV I/II IgG-33.4
HSV I/II IgM-0.90
Can you help me with what this means?
I have never had any outbreaks ever and I am really confused on the results
thanks
it appears you had a non-type specific herpes blood test done which is pretty much a waste of time and money. Call your doctor back and ask for a type specific herpes igg blood test. if they aren't sure what you are asking for - ask what lab they use and we'll try to get you the exact test number to ask them to order.
the test you had done only shows that you are + for herpes. It doesn't help you figure out which type. Since most adults have hsv 1 orally whether they can recall cold sores or not - the non-specific test is of littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys value and shouldn't be ordered.
the test was done at LabCorp and my doctor was no help to me and told me I had it and that was that. not sure what tests were done, but which kind should I get to just test for HSV II thanks so much for help
And does it say anything about which test was used?
