exposure 10 days ago

So, 10 days ago I had sex with an hsv2 positive woman. I wore a condom but sometime midway through the condom broke and I did not notice right away. We may have had sex for 10 to 15 mins after it broke. I have had no symptoms since the night of exposure and it is now 10 days later. I was tested negative for everything back in January so know that I was indeed clean before this. What are the chances that I could have contracted the virus from this one time exposure? And, since it has been 10 days since the night of sex with no lesions or symptoms, should I continue to worry myself. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

My advice is ro move on. Very low odds combined with no symptons leaves little doubt.

I have one more question for you. It has now been 24 days since the night of exposure, and I have had no lesions or apparent symptoms. Is it safe to say that I did not contract the virus at this point? Also, do you think that I should have a blood test done at the appropriate time even without visible symptoms?

Your chances are roughly 1 in a 1000 so clearly that's in your favor. Combine that with no outbreak at 10 days and you can be very confident you are fine. The vast majority of outbreaks take place in the first week.

Thank you very much for your response and information. How much longer should I really be on the look out for symptoms to show? Or should I just try to forget about it and move on. It is going on day 12 now. Thank you once again
