fever blisters are std?

i get fever blisters sometimes. does tht mean i have herpes? im really scared. it is a little sore, it is just a bump n no puss coming out or anything. i have it on the edge of my lip.

fever blisters are almost always hsv1 orally.  It's incredibly common and most adults have it.

oral herpes will not travel to your genital area to give you genital herpes.  You'd have to get genital herpes from a partner.

Wait, yes you can transfer HSV1 and HSV2 from oral to genital, or genital to oral!
Make SURE TO BE EXTRA careful trust me i have done a lot of research concerning this. I got my first cold sore about a month ago and have been paranoid ever since that i will spread it on, so i have been extra extra careful.

I think you are misunderstanding what the original poster was asking. You are not going to transmit your own hsv1 oral infection to your own genital area. Same as you are not going to transmit your own hsv2 genital infection to your own oral area - no matter how limber you might be.

You do not have to be paranoid about transmitting your herpes to another body part. Just washing your hands after touching your cold sore is all you have to do.  there's no reason to be extra careful - it's just basic hygeine.
