freaked out

so like 5 days ago i started getting itching and a weird discharge from my vagina and I've had yeast infections before so my mom took me up to the store to get the over the counter medicine called Miconazole 3-day which didnt help so i went to the doctors yesterday and mind you i had been really itchy and had scratched and cut myself open down there but there was also sores to my doctor decided to do the test for a yeast infection as well as for BV an several STD's just to be safe since i became sexually active last august when she looked at the sores she said that it might be herpes....after that i burst out crying she took 2 swabs of 2 different sores and said she would call me with the results i think she saw how upset i was so she said it may just be because of the yeast infection. How long does it take to get the results back? could it really be herpes? or could it be like the doctor said and it just be part of a really bad yeast infection. im making myself sick over here with worry someone help!!

did she also test you for yeast and bacterial infections or was there still too much medication inside you to properly do that?

at this point waiting for results is the best thing to do.

do you know if your partner was ever tested for herpes?

she tested for yeast and bacterial infections and said i had bacterial vaginosis but i havent heard back about the herpes lesion culture yet.... im really afraid that i could have it and no he hasnt ever been tested for it im making myself sick over here worrying i almost passed out at work yesterday cause ive hardly been able to eat

also could those sores/cuts be self inflicted since i had been so itchy and scratched?

yes you can scratch yourself sore.

bv can also irritate you and cause rashes.

treating with yeast medication can also cause issues.


at this point the best thing to do is keep treating your bv and wait for your other test results to come back. have you and your bf ever been tested to know your own status as far as herpes and other std's?

he told me the other day he is clean but i just got tested for them cause i hadnt been to my doctor since last august when i had my well womans visit and i still a virgin so i didnt get tested for anything

I hope it is just from a bad yeast infection because I am in the same situation! I noticed a painful white bump on behind the lip of my vagina like in the crease and I think I had a yeast infection... But I recently had a new partner also and I am freaking out because I pray this isn't herpes or something... I have to go to the doctor on Tuesday... I had the bump for 4 days then this morning it busted and some white puss came out... there was only one bump... It almost looked like a really small blister but it was harder then a blister... He says he didn't have anything and I know I didn't have anything. I can't eat and am worried sick! does anyone think this could have been the result of a bad yeast infection or does it definetly sound like a std??? Because of the region where the bump was it makes me think it is herpes or something b/c no hair grows there its right in the crease... please help me

ok so i think my last message was confusing i was meaning to say the last time i went to my doctors before this whole situation was last august and at that time i was still a vvirgin and in no way sexually active. but i have had sex with my boyfriend i am with and have received oral but at that time he had no cold sores.

there doesn't have to be an obvious cold sore present in order for hsv1 to be transmitted to the genital area through oral sex.

call today to see if any of your test results are back yet or not and go from there.

please get yourself tested soon. i got my test results back to day and tested positive for genital herpes :( im feeling sick to my stomach and cant stop crying im going to have my boyfriend get tested as well because now i dont know if i have given it to him or vice versa and i have given it to him i will feel like the worlds worst girlfriend

you need to call and ask. if they didn't type it, ask them to please call the lab they use and order it typed while they still have the specimen there. knowing type is very important!
