I feel as though I've already responded to your post, perhaps from a duplicate posting?
If an antibiotic healed your tonsil infection, it was not related to herpes, which is a viral infection, not a bacterial infection.
Yes, you can get flu symptoms by themselves as prodrome, in reaction to either your HSV-1 activating or a new HSV-2 infection that is mild because of your prior HSV-1 infection. However, I more suspect that your fever, chills and sore throat were connected to your tonsil infection.
These aren't the flu like symptoms being referred to. Genital symptoms would be down lower in terms of your lymph system producing antibodies and your body responding to the invader in that region. Back pains and general tiredness at also feature.
For you though with HSV1 antibodies, the most common symptoms upon infection are generally not even noticed. Odds are that the tonsillitis is not related at all to herpes.
Following up with testing 16 weeks post last encounter is recommended having had some contact with a positive partner.
Thank-you Life360 for your re-assurance. If it werent for the timing of the infected tonsils I wouldnt have stressed about it at all....but the timing of it started playing on my mind now that we've broken up (he broke it off, not me, and his herpes was not a major issue for me)
Hi, just resting his penis really is not a risk as you need some rubbing and grinding to force the virus into the nerve also flu like symptoms do not include infected tonsils but infected tonsils could mean you do have the real flu. Test if it will make you feel more secure.
