1. You should find out what type of herpes you have, i.e. HSV1 or HSV2 via a blood test.
2. Your girlfriend should get the same test. If you have the same type of herpes, it does not matter.
3. If you have HSV1 genitally, you will probably not have very many recurrences. When you are not having an outbreak, fingering is probably okay. However there is a remote chance that she could catch it on her hands

I will be going on antivirals soon she does not have
herpes at all. so what should we do so she won't catch it besides the antivirals I immediately asked to be put on them. I should be starting them tomorrow.
