Thanks so much for the info you have all provided!
I don't believe in anything much but my body. Tried a few things but natural is best. In the case of a confirmed herpes outbreak, the best thing to take is antivirals and have soothing baths.
.what's your opinion on the peroxide , tea teee oil home remedy?
Herpes is to be suspected here, only the swab will confirm here if positive, a follow up blood test may be needed.
They took the swab 4 weeks ago, this is her 2nd ob.. she said they gave her a tube with some creme inside of it to insert and squirt. She said she can't insert in more than 1/2 inch, she said it HURTS too bad . She also said that the discharge is really sticky, if she wears panties to bed she literally has to pull them away from her skin, because they are stuck to her. And that her labia are swollen, red and pretty tender, itches like crazy at times. Mainly on left side. And feels really DRY! She said she feels chafed also!
Are these symptoms of herpes too?

Well your daughter has a simple response, no more sex until he does or don't let the door hit you on the backside as he leaves.
She should have the results of the culture within days. If they call and say its HSV, she should ask them to type the sample if it wasn't already.
Him getting tested is not an option. He wont!!
not sure if this is relevant but she was told last yrar that she has hpv. Thry took a tissue sample to see if it was cancerous is what we were told. It came back negative.
she said the gyno did take a culture when he told her she had herpes
Urinating issues are not typically herpes related.
The more you describe the more I am convinced that proper testing is required. A cough is not related to genital herpes, that is not the flu like symptoms that are meant with a herpes infection, more like lower lymph node expansion and lower back aches.
This is a little complex now for your daughter as she has taken antivirals early in the process that could delay antibodies appearing in her blood. It is often suggested that you do not take antivirals until the virus has been confirmed but that his her choice. If she is only having a week's worth then she can test in 12 weeks time.
Her partner though could assist with the diagnosis by getting tested now. If that is 12 weeks or more since exposure to a partner apart from your daughter then the result will be conclusive.
About 3 weeks before ... her sorry pos boyfriend, who has cheated
Numerous times.. was having difficulty urinating, he felt the urge more frequently but not much would come out. He also hafmd
Had a "rash" and was not feeling well. When she was told by gyno that she had herpes, I asked her when they had sex last, she said less than 2 weeks prior . About a week after they had sex she had a cough that came out of nowhere, and about a week after the cough she came home from work and called me and aaid she felt sick. But seemed fine the next day.
she said the sores, went away within a day or 2 after taking valtrex
they were never open sores , never scabbed over.
There is the suspicion here that this is indeed herpes but I would agree that testing to confirm is required. Learning the type HSV1 or HSV2 is a very good place to start and very necessary to understand longer term prognosis.
People often have problems in the first few months, a few outbreaks are likely to occur. This is not necessarily an indicator of what will happen long term. The vast bulk of people do not need medication. However when protecting partners from transmission, daily antivirals are helpful.
For this to be herpes, there must have been a source 2-10 days before the sores appeared. Does this fit with sexual history?
Gyno also told her that if shr had more than 1 ob within 6 week timeframe, she would have to take meds EVERYDAY
Fairly close! She went in to her gyno the day she was in pain, she said she woke up and was in tears .
she had noticed a "weird" heavy, thick yellowish discharge a couple days prior.discharge continued to be thick and alot of it for almost 2 weeks. She noticed a sore or 2 the day she went to gyno, after 2 days of valtrex she thought it was cleared up. She continued to have discharge not as much. Then a couple days ago she noticed alot more discharge and the sores again, she refilled the valtrex and symptoms subsided. Still light discharge
Hi, were the second set of sores in the same spot?
Absolutely! Visual exams are not always correct. She needs to have a blood test and if she has active sores, she can get those swabbed (cultures can result in a lot of false negatives though, depending on the stage of the sore the herpes virus may not show).
Note that it can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months though for positive results to show in the blood (as the antibodies from the virus take time to develop and show in a blood test). So if you get a negative at first, you may consider retesting after more time since exposure has passed.
Lastly, many people have HSV 1 & 2 and never show symptoms. HSV-1 (commonly Oral Herpes, but becoming more common on genitals), is a very common virus that most adults have. So if she gets a test soon after exposure and they are positive, chances are she already had the virus from a previous exposure.
Hope this helps!
