help confused

My girlsfriend went to her doc , who gave an igm and an igg test. One was positve telling her she has herpes. the other negative saying she just contracted it. she claims I am her only partner, i believe her. She has not said it yet, but believes I cheated on her. I obviosly need to get tested, but is there any other way to contract? is this possible?
Could it be something else?

First thing to do is find out what test was positive and what the numbers were. The igm is not accurate and so focus on the igg. Also, it was hopefully specific to type 1 or 2.

As a side note, she could have been exposed throughout her lifetime and it is not necessarily you at all. You can still go get tested.

okay so now i know i am postive for type 2  if she is my only partner do i have concerns?

what testing have you had done?

if your gf's igm test was + for hsv2, that doesn't mean she has hsv2. I can best help you if you get her results and post them here - ie hsv1 igg 4.4 and hsv 2 igg 2.3 or whatever they are.
